Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Christies in London held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work A Greyhound and her two pups by Joseph Gott. The price achieved of GBP 6,048.00 (€ 6,827.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Gott - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A White Marble Group Of Young Girl, Probably Miss Dames Embracing A Maltese Dog, which sold at auction in June last year for USD 17,000.00 (€ 16,238.42).
