Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work A Sheet Of Studies: A Young Shepherd Seated, Asleep, Holding A Stick, Separate Studies Of His Arm, Various Hands And An Ear, And Another Figure Of A Standing Boy Playing The Flute by Joseph-François Parrocel for GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,970.35). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Drawings at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,500.00 – 4,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Joseph-François Parrocel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Game of cherubs and cupids with doves and baskets of flowers in March this year with an auction result of EUR 16,000.00.
