In April 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Fishing With Dad by Joseph Francis Kernan. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,209.81) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Francis Kernan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bad Moment for a Tangled Line! in September last year with an auction result of USD 40,695.00 (€ 41,597.67).

Im April 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fishing With Dad von Joseph Francis Kernan zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.209,81) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Francis Kernan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bad Moment for a Tangled Line! im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.695,00 (€ 41.597,67).
