Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Heraldry: Eight Plates by Joseph Edmondson was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,314.50 (€ 1,070.44). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Edmondson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Baron Geneology: Twelve Plates, which sold at auction in December 2004 for USD 4,541.00 (€ 3,354.26).
