In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Composition sold for EUR 4,845.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Dudley Downing - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Et cela depuis toujours, which sold at auction in July 2010 for EUR 13,750.00.
