In October 2011 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Composition Abstraite by Joseph Dudley Downing. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,275.00 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Dudley Downing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Et cela depuis toujours in July 2010 with an auction result of EUR 13,750.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2011 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition Abstraite von Joseph Dudley Downing zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.275,00 und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Dudley Downing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Et cela depuis toujours im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.750,00.
