In October 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work British Resting By The Lake by Joseph Denovan Adam. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,098.56) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Denovan Adam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Highland Cattle, which sold at auction in April 2009 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,174.12).

Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit British Resting By The Lake von Joseph Denovan Adam zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.098,56) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Denovan Adam mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Highland Cattle beobachtet, die im April 2009 für GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.174,12) versteigert wurde.
