In November 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting, which included the work Belgian Odalisque by Pierre Olivier Joseph Coomans. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,846.42), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Pierre Olivier Joseph Coomans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Dancing Girls in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 86,819.00).

Im November 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting durch, in der auch die Arbeit Belgian Odalisque von Pierre Olivier Joseph Coomans zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.846,42) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pierre Olivier Joseph Coomans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Dancing Girls im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 86.819,00).
