It achieved a price of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 110,333.59), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 63%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Josef von Brandt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Caravan, which sold at auction in July this year for GBP 214,200.00 (€ 249,906.48).

Die Arbeit Polish to The Forest von Josef von Brandt kam im Dezember 2015 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 110.333,59) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 63%. Für andere Arbeiten von Josef von Brandt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Caravan beobachtet, die im Juli diesen Jahres für GBP 214.200,00 (€ 249.906,48) versteigert wurde.
