Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2017 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Conversation at the Well by Josef von Brandt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 65,000.00 (€ 55,803.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Josef von Brandt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Caravan in July this year with an auction result of GBP 214,200.00 (€ 249,906.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Conversation at the Well von Josef von Brandt zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 65.000,00 (€ 55.803,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Josef von Brandt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Caravan im Juli diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 214.200,00 (€ 249.906,48).
