In November 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work The Game by José John Santos III. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 31,200.00 (€ 3,025.65), 56% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José John Santos III achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paper Dolls in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 98,400.11).

Im November 2006 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Game von José John Santos III zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 31.200,00 (€ 3.025,65) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José John Santos III erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Paper Dolls im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.100.000,00 (€ 98.400,11).
