Auction result well in line with expectations
The work José Leonilson (1957-1993) by José Leonilson was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,505.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Leonilson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Do espirito do oscuro espero as flores brancas in October last year with an auction result of USD 138,600.00 (€ 139,520.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit José Leonilson (1957-1993) von José Leonilson kam im November 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.505,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José Leonilson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Do espirito do oscuro espero as flores brancas im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 138.600,00 (€ 139.520,84).
