Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Filipin onine Watercolours Of The Philippines, Including A Riverside View Of A House In Manila; The Courtyard Of The Same House; Figures Preparing Rice; Two Women, One Smoking A Cigar; A Lady Conversing With A Farmer; A Family Boarding A Boat; A Gentleman by José Honorato Lozano was sold in the Art of Travel and Exploration auction at Sothebys in London in December 2018. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,852.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Honorato Lozano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Types and costumes of the Philippines: eleven studies in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 266,500.00 (€ 372,766.94).
