Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Spanish en La Calle (Street Scene) by José García Ramos was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings Including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works auction at Sothebys in London in November 2010. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,949.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José García Ramos achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work At the railway station in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 85,150.00 (€ 145,545.69).
