Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by José García Ramos could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting auction, the work Spanish Reclining Nude changed hands for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,670.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by José García Ramos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work At the railway station in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 85,150.00 (€ 145,545.69).
