Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 45,299.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José Gallegos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Choir of St. Mark'S, Venice, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,742.63).
