Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Spanish A Game Of Chess by José Gallegos. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,482.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by José Gallegos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Choir of St. Mark'S, Venice in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,742.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spanish A Game Of Chess von José Gallegos zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.482,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von José Gallegos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Choir of St. Mark'S, Venice im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 84.000,00 (€ 124.742,63).
