In the 19th Century Paintings including Spanish Painting and Symbolism & the Poetic Vision auction, the work Spanishlos Invitados; El Recital: Una Pareja (The Visitors; The Recital: A Pair) sold for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 16,628.07) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by José de Cala y Moya; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Visitors; And The Recital sold at auction in June 2005 with the realized price of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,341.71).
