Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by José Cúneo was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 34,375.00 (€ 23,911.38). Other works by José Cúneo have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2001 by the work Ranchos orilleros at USD 35,250.00 (€ 41,691.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von José Cúneo im Mai 2011 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 35.000,00 – 45.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 34.375,00 (€ 23.911,38) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von José Cúneo wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2001 die Arbeit Ranchos orilleros mit USD 35.250,00 (€ 41.691,31).
