In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction 19TH CENTURY ART INCLUDING OTTOMANS AND ORIENTALISTS, which included the work Outside the Blacksmiths by Jose Benlliure y Gil. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 26,290.00 (€ 37,780.16), 64% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jose Benlliure y Gil achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Inside A Coffee House, Tunis in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 555,000.00 (€ 643,760.20).

Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19TH CENTURY ART INCLUDING OTTOMANS AND ORIENTALISTS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Outside the Blacksmiths von Jose Benlliure y Gil zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 26.290,00 (€ 37.780,16) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jose Benlliure y Gil erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Inside A Coffee House, Tunis im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 555.000,00 (€ 643.760,20).
