In May 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary, which included the work La Pata Roja by Jorge de la Vega. The »bidding war« ended at USD 377,000.00 (€ 276,392.96), 37% above the upper estimate. Other works by Jorge de la Vega have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 422,500.00 (€ 332,834.41) in November 2008 for the work Billiken.
