This artwork by Joos van Cleve achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2003. In the Old Master Pictures auction, the work The Madonna and Child sold for GBP 50,190.00 (€ 65,601.71) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joos van Cleve achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Madonna Of The Cherries in October last year with an auction result of USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 1,078,115.56).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Joos van Cleve erzielte im Juli 2003 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Pictures wurde die Arbeit The Madonna and Child für GBP 50.190,00 (€ 65.601,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joos van Cleve erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Madonna Of The Cherries im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.071.000,00 (€ 1.078.115,56).
