Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Portrait Of A Bearded Man, Bust Length, Wearing A Black Beret, A Fur Lined Surcoat And Crimson Undersleeves, Holding A Dagger by Joos van Cleve. The price achieved of USD 615,000.00 (€ 551,618.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Other works by Joos van Cleve have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October last year the work The Madonna Of The Cherries was auctioned for USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 1,078,115.56).
