Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Joop Stierhout achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in February 2004. In the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work Paleis op de Dam sold for EUR 1,673.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 800.00. Admittedly, works by Joop Stierhout have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Viering van de geboorte van Prinses Irene: Vlaggen op het Damrak, Centraal Station in de achtergrond in October 2003 with an auction result of EUR 12,547.50.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Joop Stierhout erzielte im Februar 2004 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS wurde die Arbeit Paleis op de Dam für EUR 1.673,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joop Stierhout auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Viering van de geboorte van Prinses Irene: Vlaggen op het Damrak, Centraal Station in de achtergrond im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 12.547,50.
