It achieved a price of EUR 2,031.50 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 69 %. Admittedly, works by Joop Stierhout have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Viering van de geboorte van Prinses Irene: Vlaggen op het Damrak, Centraal Station in de achtergrond in October 2003 with an auction result of EUR 12,547.50.

Die Arbeit Building of the Stopera, Amsterdam von Joop Stierhout kam im Februar 2004 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 2.031,50 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 69 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joop Stierhout auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Viering van de geboorte van Prinses Irene: Vlaggen op het Damrak, Centraal Station in de achtergrond im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 12.547,50.
