In April 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Reflections (Double-Sided) by Jolly Koh. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 25,000.00 (€ 2,816.62), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jolly Koh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Road to Subang II in May 2015 with an auction result of HKD 112,500.00 (€ 13,200.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reflections (Double-Sided) von Jolly Koh zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 25.000,00 (€ 2.816,62) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jolly Koh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Road to Subang II im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 13.200,38).
