Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Quarter Horse by John Willis Good was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,512.00 (€ 1,409.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Willis Good achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Huntsman and Hounds in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 19,100.00 (€ 24,296.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Quarter Horse von John Willis Good kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.512,00 (€ 1.409,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Willis Good erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Huntsman and Hounds im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.100,00 (€ 24.296,03).
