It achieved a price of USD 9,375.00 (€ 7,292.31), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by John Williamson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunset in the Wilderness in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 77,675.00 (€ 66,016.49).

Die Arbeit Gloucester Point von John Williamson kam im September 2012 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 7.292,31) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Williamson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunset in the Wilderness im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 77.675,00 (€ 66.016,49).
