Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Homeward-bound by John Williamson was sold in the Maritime & Naval Battles (Pictures) auction at Christies in London in May 2007. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 840.00 (€ 1,236.12), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Williamson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset in the Wilderness in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 77,675.00 (€ 66,016.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Homeward-bound von John Williamson wurde im Mai 2007 in der Auktion Maritime & Naval Battles (Pictures) bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 840,00 (€ 1.236,12) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Williamson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunset in the Wilderness im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 77.675,00 (€ 66.016,49).
