Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John White Abbott could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt auction, the work Cornworthy Abbey, South Hams, Devon changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,890.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by John White Abbott have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ugbrooke, Devon in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 55,564.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John White Abbott konnte im Juli 2011 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John White Abbott auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ugbrooke, Devon im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 55.564,16).
