Auction result misses estimated price range
In July this year a collector was able to acquire this work without title by John Wesley for USD 13,970.00 (€ 12,676.95). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Wesley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Plague in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 577,000.00 (€ 370,822.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von John Wesley für USD 13.970,00 (€ 12.676,95) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Wesley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Plague im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 577.000,00 (€ 370.822,62).
