Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The valley of Aber at Bont Newydd, North Wales by John Webber was auctioned at Christies in London in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,585.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Webber achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View In Nootka Sound in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 224,750.00 (€ 252,923.20).

Die Arbeit The valley of Aber at Bont Newydd, North Wales von John Webber kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.024,00 (€ 3.585,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Webber erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A View In Nootka Sound im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 224.750,00 (€ 252.923,20).
