A top price for John Webber - as previously expected
The work A View In Nootka Sound by John Webber was sold in the Topographical Pictures auction at Christies in London in December 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 224,750.00 (€ 252,923.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A View In Nootka Sound is the most expensive artwork by John Webber that we have observed at auctions so far.
