Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sandpits On Hampstead Heath by John Webber was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,524.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Webber achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View In Nootka Sound in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 224,750.00 (€ 252,923.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sandpits On Hampstead Heath von John Webber kam im Juli 2016 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.524,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Webber erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A View In Nootka Sound im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 224.750,00 (€ 252.923,20).
