Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of AUD 900.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 998.75 (€ 590.01). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Walter Wolseley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Concerning the Making of Steel in August 2003 with an auction result of AUD 19,975.00 (€ 11,800.27).

Die Arbeit Sheet Steel Making Drawing I von John Walter Wolseley kam im August 2003 bei Christies in Sydney zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 900,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 998,75 (€ 590,01) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Walter Wolseley erzielen.
