Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Shire horses before a country cottage by John W. King for GBP 164.50 (€ 268.91). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00 set by the auction house. Other works by John W. King have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2001 by the work The portico of the Taylor Institute, Oxford at GBP 211.50 (€ 341.48).
