Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Miss Rachel Long, three-quarter-length, in a white dress with a yellow mantle, a park landscape beyond by John Vanderbank for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 8,533.61). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Pictures (Day Sale) at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by John Vanderbank have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mary, Countess of Delorain (1705-1737), three-quarter length, in a white dress by an orange tree, a landscape beyond in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Miss Rachel Long, three-quarter-length, in a white dress with a yellow mantle, a park landscape beyond von John Vanderbank für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 8.533,61) erwerben. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Vanderbank auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mary, Countess of Delorain (1705-1737), three-quarter length, in a white dress by an orange tree, a landscape beyond im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
