In July 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady, As Diana, Three-Quarter-Length, With A Leopard Shawl by John Vanderbank. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,200.00 (€ 11,961.61), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Vanderbank - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mary, Countess of Delorain (1705-1737), three-quarter length, in a white dress by an orange tree, a landscape beyond, which sold at auction in July 2018 for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Im Juli 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, As Diana, Three-Quarter-Length, With A Leopard Shawl von John Vanderbank zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 11.961,61) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Vanderbank mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mary, Countess of Delorain (1705-1737), three-quarter length, in a white dress by an orange tree, a landscape beyond beobachtet, die im Juli 2018 für GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70) versteigert wurde.
