Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait head study of Don Quixote by John Vanderbank was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2018. It achieved a price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,924.27), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by John Vanderbank have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mary, Countess of Delorain (1705-1737), three-quarter length, in a white dress by an orange tree, a landscape beyond in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait head study of Don Quixote von John Vanderbank kam im Juli 2018 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.924,27) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Vanderbank auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mary, Countess of Delorain (1705-1737), three-quarter length, in a white dress by an orange tree, a landscape beyond im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
