Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,614.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan van der Vaart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Violin in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 63,650.00 (€ 73,047.90).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of Meliora Gomeldon (Circa 1674-1719), Three-Quarter-Length, Wearing An Orange Dress With Blue And White Cloak, Seated In A Landscape von Jan van der Vaart kam im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.614,05) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan van der Vaart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Violin im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 63.650,00 (€ 73.047,90).
