A top price for John George Sowerby - as previously expected
In June 2007 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work Michelmas Daisies by John George Sowerby. The price achieved of GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,917.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Michelmas Daisies is the most expensive artwork by John George Sowerby that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Juni 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Michelmas Daisies von John George Sowerby zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.917,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Michelmas Daisies das teuerste Kunstwerk von John George Sowerby, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
