Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Greetings, alternatively titled Mother and Child at a Window by John Sloan was sold in the Spring Americana | Bonhams Skinner auction at Bonhams in May this year. The price achieved of USD 255.00 (€ 239.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Sloan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Corpus Christi Procession in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 607,500.00 (€ 574,305.16).
