In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Surrey Cottages by John Shelley. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,935.37), 31% above the upper estimate. Other works by John Shelley have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 2,820.00 (€ 4,609.18) in November 2000 for the work Church Row.

Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Surrey Cottages von John Shelley zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.629,00 (€ 3.935,37) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von John Shelley haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.820,00 (€ 4.609,18) im November 2000 für die Arbeit Church Row beobachtet.
