Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2011 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Too young for sea by John Robertson Reid. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,788.97), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Robertson Reid - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hiding the Deserter, which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,446.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Too young for sea von John Robertson Reid zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.788,97) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Robertson Reid mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hiding the Deserter beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für GBP 11.950,00 (€ 17.446,62) versteigert wurde.
