This artwork by Jack Spurling achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2005. In the MARITIME PICTURES auction, the work The Paddle Steamer Crested Eagle Running Down The Thames Estuary, Her Deck Crowded With Passengers sold for GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,231.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Jack Spurling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Australian Clipper Ship Torrens Under Full Sail in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,425.63).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jack Spurling erzielte im November 2005 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion MARITIME PICTURES wurde die Arbeit The Paddle Steamer Crested Eagle Running Down The Thames Estuary, Her Deck Crowded With Passengers für GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.231,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jack Spurling auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Australian Clipper Ship Torrens Under Full Sail im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.425,63).
