Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work The emigrant ship Invercargill off Fairoa Head, New Zealand by Jack Spurling. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,789.26) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Spurling - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Australian Clipper Ship Torrens Under Full Sail, which sold at auction in June 2013 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,425.63).

Im März 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The emigrant ship Invercargill off Fairoa Head, New Zealand von Jack Spurling zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.789,26) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jack Spurling mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Australian Clipper Ship Torrens Under Full Sail beobachtet, die im Juni 2013 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.425,63) versteigert wurde.
