Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Bathers by John Passmore was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in March 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 9,560.00 (€ 5,642.75). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Passmore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Water'S Edge #2 in March 2006 with an auction result of AUD 203,150.00 (€ 119,908.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Bathers von John Passmore im März 2006 bei Christies in Sydney versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 9.560,00 (€ 5.642,75) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Passmore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Water'S Edge #2 im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 203.150,00 (€ 119.908,54).
