This artwork by John Philip Falter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2015. In the American Art auction, the work Sunday Picnic, Troy, Kansas sold for USD 237,500.00 (€ 216,026.92) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Philip Falter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Young Sammy Sixgun, which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 516,500.00 (€ 434,106.57).

Für andere Arbeiten von John Philip Falter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Young Sammy Sixgun beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 516.500,00 (€ 434.106,57) versteigert wurde.
