Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2020 Christies in London held the auction Australian Art - Online, which included the work Sydney Harbour by John Peter Russell. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,234.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Peter Russell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Boys On The Beach, Belle-Ile in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 1,800,000.00 (€ 1,106,786.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Australian Art - Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sydney Harbour von John Peter Russell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.234,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Peter Russell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Boys On The Beach, Belle-Ile im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.800.000,00 (€ 1.106.786,59).
