Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sunset in the woods by John Peter Russell was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2020. The price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,399.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Peter Russell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Boys On The Beach, Belle-Ile in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 1,800,000.00 (€ 1,106,786.59).
